OUR PURPOSE
The Christian Church is under attack today. The assault comes from many areas including the world, media, government, IRS and even its own members. There are a lot of hurting people and wounded Christians, many of whom are local pastors, their wives, and leaders. Sadly, they have been largely neglected.
However, an unheralded but positive and new move of God is providing a spiritual medical core for those in Christian leadership. We are privileged to be among a growing number of men and women who have burdens for the hurting, wounded, troubled, sinning, and burnt-out pastors, their wives and other leaders in the Body of Christ.
Barnabas Ministries exists to encourage and lift up others by undergirding them with prayer, training, and counsel. We also, have an ability to stand in support of these hurting people in difficult times, all the while remaining in the background. We see this as our call.
We are home missionaries. Our vision is to reach out and touch pastors and leaders who need encouragement under the pressures of their own ministry call. The Lord has us building a 'relational' foundation with others, meeting with and supporting ministry in our immediate area, as well as on a state and national level. We are discovering that many have lost the joy of shepherding.
We meet with leaders one on one. We preach in local churches, always emphasizing that the "pastor is a gift" to that church, and should be treated as such. We correspond with national ministries, and do follow-up on their behalf. Simply put, God has us available to be a Barnabas to those who need a Barnabas in their lives.
